Canon 70D Announced with Continuous Auto-Focus

Canon has just announced the new Canon EOS 70D. The 70D is the newest camera in the  Canon APS-C sensor line. Canon is using the phrase “game changer” to describe the camera because it has Dual Pixel CMOS AF.

This supposedly allows the camera to have smooth, continuous autofocus even when shooting in movie mode! Time will tell whether that changes the game or not, but we’re definitely interested in finding out.

The Canon 70D Specs are as follows:

  • 20.2mp CMOS Sensor
  • DIGIC 5+
  • 19pt AF System (All Cross-Type)
  • 7fps
  • Built-in WiFi
  • 3″ Vari-Angle Touch Screen LCD
  • ISO 12,800 Maximum
  • Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus
  • Full HD Video
  • HDR
  • Multiexposure Mode
  • LP-E6 Battery

At the time of writing, the Canon 70D is slated to hit store shelves on September 15, 2013.
