ND filters are used to reduce exposure. Allows the use of larger apertures, reducing depth of field, to allow selective focus and rack focus.
Pro-Mist filters create a special “atmosphere” by softening excess sharpness and contrast. These filters will create a pearlescent halo around highlight.
Underexposes the image by about two stops and give it a blue overcast. This helps you make a scene shot during the day look like it was shot at night.
IRND filters are both IR and ND. Digital sensors are sensitive to infared light pollution, which can cause contrast changes. These filters combat that.
