The DVX-200 is the 4K descendant of Panasonic’s hit DVX-100 camera. In case you forgot, the DVX-100 was the first first consumer-affordable digital camera that could shoot video at 24p without interlacing.
Even though the body may look similar to the DVX-100, the DVX-200 is a whole new beast. The new camera will shoot in 4K up to 60 fps, and up to 120fps in HD. It features a 4/3 CMOS sensor, which makes pulling focus for documentaries and fast TV work a lot faster and easier than 35mm sensors.
The Panasonic DVX-200 comes with a built-in Leica DICOMAR lens. This lens has a 13x zoom range and is the equivalent of about a 30mm-385mm lens on a 35mm camera. There is a power zoom rocker and individual controls for the focus and iris.
The DVX-200 is very popular for broadcast, documentaries, reality tv, and other similar productions. Because of the IR/Nightmode, it has also become the go to camera for ghost hunting and paranormal productions.
