DJI is releasing a baby brother to it’s popular Ronin stabilizer. The Ronin M will be half the weight of the original Ronin, but will carry only 8lbs.
Anyone who has operated a stabilizer on set for a day (hell, even an hour or two) knows how excited any operator would be to halve the weight of their rig, so there is no doubt a hungry market for it.
Since the Ronin M can only carry 8lbs, this announcement is especially great new for shooters who want to fly small cameras like the Canon 5D, Sony A7s, Panasonic GH4, and Blackmagic cameras.
Here are the specs we currently know for the Ronin M Gimbal Stabilizer:
- Weighs 5 lbs
- Can Carry Loads Up To 8lbs
- Over 6 hours of battery life
- Two regulated 12V P-taps, one 500mAH full-size USB connector, and a DJI Lightbridge connector
- Quick release system for the top handle allows users to mount the DJI Ronin-M easily to jibs, cranes, tripods, and many more.
