The Fujinon ZK 25-300mm T3.5-3.85 Cabrio Lens is now available for rent at Stray Angel Films.

Spanning the Film and ENG worlds, and supporting 4K production, the Fujinon ZK 25-300mm T3.5 to T3.85 Cabrio Lens is a 12x zoom for Super35 single-sensor cameras, and it features a PL mount. The long zoom range allows you to shoot medium-wide to long shots without changing lenses, and it holds its maximum T3.5 aperture from 25 to 273mm, almost the entire length of the zoom, losing less than half a stop as it reaches 300mm. This minimized iris ramping makes it easier to use a continuous zoom along the entire zoom range of the lens.

The focus ring features 280 degrees of rotation, providing for accurate focus adjustments, and the 120-degree zoom rotation is consistent with other lenses in the Cabrio line. The focus, zoom, and iris barrels are geared with standard 0.8 film pitch, which provides an interface for the optional removable ENG-style digital drive unit. The rear PL mount features electrical contacts for sharing Arri LDS and Cooke /i Technology lens data with the camera.

An optional detachable drive unit converts the lens to an ENG configuration, and it incorporates a zoom rocker switch, 16-bit encoding, and an interface for remote control via a wired or wireless controller from Fujinon or other compatible, third party manufacturers. This vintage Canon K-35 25-120mm T2.8 Macro zoom lens is quite special. It covers a great range, has a fast maximum aperture of T2.8 over the entire zoom range, and offers unique vintage character typically only found in prime lenses. Like Canon K-35 primes, it’s sharp wide open, slightly lower contrast, flares BIG, and flares easily, and has unique textured bokeh.

This lens has a separate macro focusing ring, which greatly improves close focus. You can focus down to just inches away from the front element, making diopters unnecessary.

Duclos Lenses made several improvements to the lens, including removing its internal baffle, which greatly improves the lens bokeh wide open. Bokeh is so beautiful on this lens, that you will want to shoot it wide open at all times. However thanks to a 15-blade iris, bokeh stays circular at all T stops. Thanks to huge lens elements and gorgeous old Canon multi-layer coatings, this lens has become well known for its exaggerated amber and magenta lens flares.

This rare, parfocal zoom from the Canon FD series has a pleasing vintage look, preserved from its initial release in 1982. Its modern rehousing was completed by GL Optics and allows full frame performance within a compact, durable housing. Close focus has been made shorter, and GL Optics swapped out the old 8-sided iris with a 16-sided iris for more circular bokeh.

Much like FD primes, this lens performs very well wide open, but still has some beautiful character that most modern lenses just don’t have. Bokeh has some interesting texture, but still smooth. Flares are really beautiful, which isn’t always the case with lenses that cover this range.

The Canon CN-E 30-300mm T2.95-3.7 L SP PL Mount Cinema Zoom Lens is designed expressly for digital cinematography with cameras that have an APS-C or Super 35-equivalent sensor and a PL mount, including Canon’s EOS C300 PL. Featuring advanced optical technology designed by Canon, the lens is suitable for any capturing any size HD image up to and including 4K resolution.

With a focal length range of 30-300mm, the 10x cinema zoom lens is designed to cover the longer end of the focal lengths typically required by cinematic productions, and its maximum telephoto length of 300mm puts it among the best in its class. Maximum aperture is a relatively fast T2.95 throughout much of its range, and the 11-blade iris enables a smooth bokeh for out-of-focus areas of the frame.
