The ARRI LMB 4×5 Matte Box 15mm set includes a wide range of lightweight LMB 4×5 matte box components. This most complete of several sets offered by ARRI includes a 15mm lightweight rod support, stationary 2-filter and single-filter stages, one single-filter rotating stage, and five 4 x 5.65″ / 4 x 4″ combo filter trays. The LMB 4×5 may be top or bottom-mounted using the 15mm LWS console; for clip-on use, a lens clamp adapter must be ordered separately. This configuration of the modular LMB 4×5 matte box also includes a flexible, universal adapter donut that fits a wide variety of lenses from 62-143mm in diameter.

Flare-blocking aids include one top/bottom flag, two side flags, a set of flag holders, and sets of both spherical and anamorphic–formatted mattes. For those up close-and-personal shots, the LMB 4×5 sunshade includes captive screws for easy removal and attachment to its frame. Extended flare protection on the carbon fiber flags includes slide-out wings; the large flag may be positioned at the top or bottom of the matte box depending on your shot.

A combo swing-away/tilt arm module enables easier lens changes by providing access to the lens port without having to slide the matte box off its supporting rods. The tilt function supports filters at a 10° angle, eliminating or reducing unwanted reflections such as car headlights, etc. Use the LMB accessory adapter to attach a 3/8″-16-mountable item such as a focus rangefinder to the LMB 4×5 matte box.

The Tilta Nucleus-M System is a wireless follow focus available for rent at Stray Angel Films.

The Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus System features a 1000′ transmission range, and comes with two lens drive motors with built-in wireless receivers, a FIZ hand controller, and two handgrips—one to control focus, and the other iris and zoom. The lens drive motors each feature a cine standard 0.8 MOD drive gear and two 7-pin connectors, which enables you to freely swap or interchange each motor. The motors power by daisy-chaining using the 7-pin cables, and each motor includes a 19mm rod clamp with 19 to 15mm reducing bushing.

The FIZ hand controller allows you to control focus, iris, and zoom, and includes a neck strap. The handgrips feature adapters that enable mounting the controllers onto ARRI-compatible rosettes or onto 25/30mm diameter rods, such as those used with gimbals. The system comes packed in a waterproof hard case that protects your gear during transport and storage.

The Wooden Camera UMB-1 Universal Matte Box (Swing Away) mounts to 15mm LWS rods using a height-adjustable swing-away bracket and features two rotating 4 x 5.65″ filter stages, with an optional third stage available as an add-on. It has a 143mm diameter opening and includes an ARRI-style rubber bellows with a standard 114mm opening, along with a set of clamp reduction rings. The reduction rings snap into the bellows quickly for fast lens changes and are compatible with all third party 114mm threaded bellows.

For accessory mounting, the matte box includes NATO accessory rails on the left, right, and top. Completing the package is a folding top flag. The Misfit Atom 4×5.65″ / 4×4″ Ultra Lightweight 2-Stage Clip-On Matte Box from Bright Tangerine is a small, lightweight yet strong, clamp-on matte box for lenses with an outer diameter of up to 114mm.  It holds up to two 4×4 or 4×5.65″ filters without using filter trays, and it provides a wide field of view suitable for many wide-angle lenses even with two filters mounted.

The removable flexible hood is built to hold its shape over time, even in temperature extremes. The matte box with hood weighs in at under 7 ounces, only 3.5 ounces without the hood.
