We rent the Canon C300 Mark III Digital Cinema Camera at Stray Angel Films.

Create cinema-quality productions with the Canon EOS C300 Mark III Digital Cinema Camera, which features a Super 35mm Dual Gain Output sensor with up to 16 stops of high dynamic range capability for superior HDR recording and low noise. The EF lens mount offers compatibility not only with Canon’s existing broad range of DSLR lenses but also with their line of EF-mount cinema prime, zooms, and even 2.0 and 1.33 anamorphic lenses. The Canon EOS C500 Mark II 5.9K Full-Frame Camera is part of the Cinema EOS lineup of cameras, and it features a full-frame CMOS sensor with an effective 18.69MP resolution. This allows it to feature a 5.9K output in full frame, and crop (window) the sensor for Super 35 and Super 16 frame sizes while maintaining a high resolution. The C500 Mark II comes with a Canon EF mount and features an interchangeable lens mount system, allowing you to swap out the mount in the field for an optional Cinema Locking EF or PL mount, thus greatly expanding the amount of glass you can use with the camera. The sensor features over 15 stops of dynamic range and Dual Pixel autofocus support, and the camera uses a DIG!C DV 7 chip for image processing.

The camera internally records raw using the Canon Cinema RAW Light codec in 12- or 10-bit, or you can capture using the XF-AVC codec in 10-bit. Internal recording is done to CFexpress cards via two CFexpress card slots. 8-bit proxy recording in the XF-AVC codes, as well as JPEGs, can be captured onto an SD card via the built-in SD card slot. Supporting a variety of gamma settings including Canon Log 2 and Log 3, as well as supporting a variety of color gamuts including Cinema BT.2020, DCI-P3, and legacy BT.709. We rent the Canon 5D Mark IV camera here at Stray Angel Films.

At first glance, the 5D Mark IV may look very similar to its predecessor, but underneath lies a whole new beast.

Probably the most exciting new feature the 5D Mark IV brings to the table is the ability to shoot 4K video, something even the Mark III lacked. Other new features include Canon’s Dual Auto Focus technology, built-in Wi-Fi/NFC, interval timer, and GPS.

The new 30.4 Megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 6 image processor make the Mark IV DSLR both a video and photo monster.

During continuous shooting, the 5D Mark IV can capture up to 7 frames per second. The impressive native ISO range of 100-32000 can be expanded to ISO 50-102400, offering you the low-light performance you’ve come to expect from the Canon 5D line of DSLRs.

The new 4K video option allows recording up to 30 fps at 500 Mbps. Full HD 1080p can be recorded at 60 fps. If you need to go film even slower, 720p HD video can be recorded up to 120 fps.

In camera 4K footage has 4:2:2 and 8-bit color depth. 1080p footage is recorded in camera with 4:2:0, but can be saved via HDMI to an external recorder with 4:2:2.

If you’re using the 5D Mark IV for photography, there are several new features to be excited about, mainly Dual Pixel RAW. This new technology works by taking two photos, both 30.4 megapixels, using the left and right halves of a single pixel. With all this information, the camera can allow you to make some adjustments in post such as slightly shifting focus and reducing flare/ghosting.

The 5D Mark IV records to CF Cards via the dual CompactFlash slots and to an SD card via a single slot.

We rent the Canon C300 Mark II camera. We also rent the newer Canon C300 Mark III.

The Canon C300 took the industry by storm a few years ago and is almost definitely the most popular camera we have rented since its release.

The C300 Mark II combines all the most-loved features and ergonomics of the original with a few improvements that shooters will love.

The biggest upgrade to the Canon C300 Mark II is the resolution. The original camera could only shoot HD, whereas the new Mark II version shoots 4K (4096×2160).

To produce these 4K images, the C300 Mark II uses a Super 35mm CMOS sensor. This sensor supports resolutions of 4096×2160 (4K), 3840×2160 (UltraHD), and 1920×1080 (HD).The images are processed by the Canon DIGIC DV 5 image processor.

As far as codecs are concerned, the Canon C300 Mark II delivers the highest quality image with its XF AVC codec, which is an H.264 format in a widely supported MXF wrapper.

All C300 Mark II cameras come with Canon’s Dual Pixel AF. This technology provides continuous autofocus for all autofocus lenses. There is also a new AF lock setting that lets you change the frame of the image while holding the desired focus.

For connections, the Canon C300 Mark II features two 3G-SDI outputs, timecode I/O, and genlock BNCs.
