The SAF Production Stage is an infinity cyc soundstage rental located on the Westside of Los Angeles. The production stage features an exterior mural dedicated to four of the most iconic roles brought to life by the late critically acclaimed actor Chadwick Boseman.

This 1,545-square-foot soundstage is soundproofed and includes a green room and production office. The stage has a 14-foot lighting grid and does not include any lights.

There is 600A distro power, including four 100A Bates connectors plus another 200A spread across 12 Edison outlets. The stage is ideal for commercials, music videos, interviews, photography, and other studio productions.

The daily rental fee includes a Stage Manager, lights, parking, and a green room.

Stage Rates

• Full-day 10-hour shoot: $2,000
• Full-day 12-hour shoot: $2,400
• Half-day 6-hour shoot: $1,000

Fees

• Weekend fee: $250 per Saturday or Sunday for the weekend Stage Manager
• Dumpster fee: $100 if an additional dumpster pickup is required
• Cleaning fee: $200 if special cleaning is required for spills, stains, or similar issues
• Painting fee: $1,200 to change the cyc from white to green or green to white
• Overtime: $200 per hour beyond the scheduled booking time

Stage Includes

Stage for the day, four walls, cyc wall, lighting grid, power, air conditioning, production room, makeup and wardrobe room, six parking spaces, and a Stage Manager.

Please Note

Overtime beyond 10 hours is assessed at $200 per hour. Please advise us during your production if overtime may be required so we can schedule staff accordingly. Overtime charges continue until the last person has left the facility.

All rented equipment, including grip and electric, lights, and other production items, is subject to a separate rental fee.

After production, the stage must be left in the clean condition in which it was provided. All set pieces, equipment, and lighting must be removed, or additional dumpster and cleaning charges may apply.

Use the compact Camera Control Monitor CCM-1 Set from ARRI to obtain both full camera control and menu access in a touchscreen display that is bright and sharp enough to use as an operating alternative to an EVF. This 7″ onboard monitor features a single EVF-cable solution for imaging, control, and power for sleek rigging, BNC input and loop output, battery options, and a choice of touchscreen, side button, and joystick/button control. Display tools are based on the SmallHD monitoring tool kit familiar to many ACs and operators. This kit comprises the CCM-1 monitor, a folding sunshade, a screen protector, a tilting mount, a 1.5′ VF cable, and a 1.6′ RS power cable.

The CCM-1 offers full camera control and novel viewing configurations for both the ALEXA 35 and ALEXA Mini LF digital cinema cameras. It can use the same viewfinder connector as the MVF-2 without taking up one of the camera’s SDI ports, providing an alternate means of imaging, control, and menu selection, or it can be used alongside the MVF-2. The CCM-1 uses SmallHD PageOS, which enables LUTs to be added to a Page or Pages with the monitor LUT tool.

We have the T-Rex Superscope available for rent at Stray Angel Films.

The front lens on the T-REX System can pan up to 360 degrees while maintaining a level horizon without any additional controls. The horizon can be set/adjusted to any position with the image rotation gear.

Front Head can also be rotated around the horizontal Axis by loosening the separation ring and pulling the front lens forward (to disengage locating pin) then rotate to the desired position and re-tighten the separation ring again.

The T-REX provides very high image quality as regards contrast, resolution and field flatness. Image quality also matches well with modern zoom and prime lenses. For ease of use, a filter slot allows for use of two 48mm filters.

We have the Zeiss UnCoated Super Speed MKIII 5 Lens Set available for rent at Stray Angel Films.

Zeiss Super Speeds are arguably the most capable and some of the most beautiful vintage lenses available. Their T1.3 maximum aperture is an obvious advantage and puts them in rare company. Whether you are wide-open or stopped down, the images they produce are magic. From the special glass made from rare earth elements that can no longer be used to make lenses, to Zeiss’ magic T* coating, these lenses just make people look good. They produce beautiful blue and magenta lens flares, and have minimal focus breathing especially on the wide focal lengths.

Super Speeds cover well beyond Super 35mm, so they are an excellent choice when you need to cover digital sensors that are larger than S35, like Alexa Mini Open Gate, and Alexa 35 Open Gate. The 25mm through 135mm even cover Alexa Mini LF 3.8 UHD 16×9 format which is right in between S35 and full frame. The 50mm nearly covers FF, and the 65mm, 85mm, and 135mm cover FF completely.
