The Short Game Documentary Screen Capture

One of the best things about being a younger rental house is that we’ve been able to grow with a lot of our clients. Director Josh Greenbaum was one of Stray Angel’s very fist clients back when the business was still being run out of our CEO’s Hollywood apartment. This week, Josh’s SXSW Award-Winning documentary, ‘The Short Game’, gets its initial select city theatrical release.

Here’s what our CEO, Suren M. Seron, had to say when we asked him how he met Josh and Chris:

“I first met two time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Josh Greenbaum in October of 2007.  He emailed me randomly responding to an ad I had posted on Craig’s List wanting to rent one of my Panasonic HVX-200 cameras and a P2 Store.  He was working on a web series called “Border Patrol” at the time after winning the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmakers Award.  “Border Patrol” was picked up by and subsequently aired on Comedy Central.

Since those days, Josh has gone on to do quite a few more web, television and feature film projects, most recently, “The Short Game” – a feature documentary we are very proud to have rented producer and fellow rental client Chris Leggett 14 Canon C300 Cameras to film.  We are very proud to continue our rental relationship with both Chris and Josh which is now going on six years strong!”

Watch the interview we did with Chris Leggett, the film’s producer:

Chris sent over these fun facts in case you’re still on the fence about seeing the film:

  • The Short Game won the Audience Award at SXSW, Maui and The Hamptons film festivals
  • Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are executive producers… which means we’re kind of a big deal… Or at least they think we are 🙂
  • If you know anything about golf… The film features cameos from LEGENDS Jack Nicklaus, Annika Sorenstam, Gary Player (maybe you’ll pick up a hint or two)
  • If you know nothing about golf… The film feature cute, hilarious, and crazy talented kids who will keep you smiling and laughing the whole time!

Needless to say, we’re very excited to have been apart of “The Short Game”. Congrats to Josh Greenbaum, Chris Leggett, and the rest of the team! We wish them so much success and look forward to working with them on future projects.
